Broomball Canada offers the following NCCP (National Coaching Certification Program) workshops:
COMMUNITY SPORT LEVEL
Broomball for fun (BF2): With 4 hours in-class, and 3 hours on the ice, you will learn how to teach basic broomball skills via the Lace to the Top Program, and learn how to plan practices for your athletes aged 4 to 18. At the end of this 7-hour workshop, you will be equipped to initiate young athletes to the sport of broomball!
COMPETITION LEVEL
Broomball to Compete (BTC): Learn more advanced broomball skills and strategies in this 17-hour workshop, designed for participants that wish to coach at a provincial/national championship level. Through in-class and on the ice sessions, you will learn how to analyze your athletes’ performance and how to work towards high-performance with athletes from 12 to 35 years in age.
Broomball to Excel (BTE): This five-day workshop will inform coaches on how to get higher performance from their athletes by learning how to plan the yearly physical, technical and psychological aspects of their training. Additionally, it will provide coaches with advance Broomball techniques and tactics, and required leadership skills to become the top in their field. This course is designed for international and national broomball coaches.
Coaches interested in this workshop are required to have the following certifications and have completed the following multi-sport workshops:
- Completed the BTC
- Competition Introduction Make Ethical Decisions Evaluation
- Completed the BTE Pre-Logbook
- Red Cross
- Managing Conflicts
- Leading Drug Free Sport
